Doves
"Classic British indie"
Although the members of Doves had played in bands in their youth, they didn't release anything until 2000. Their debut album, 'Lost Souls' reached number 14 with follow up album 'The Last Broadcast' going in at number one in the UK and receiving some success in America. Since then they have made 'Lost Sides' and 'Some Cities', with another album due for release in 2008. The band is made up of brothers Jez and Andy Williams (guitar and drums respectively) and Jimi Goodwin (bass). The trio take influences from many of the 'Madchester' such as Oasis and The Stone Roses, as well as classic rock like U2.
