Divide and Multiply
"Divide and Multiply write rhythmic, energy-charged songs with a healthy slice of the unpredictable. With a constantly shifting volatile mix of moods, the music flits from fast punchy riffs to warm spacey interludes and from epic build-ups into anthemic choruses. Vocals with heroic urgency soar above a pounding rhythm section whilst synths swell, creating a vast soundscape."
Divide & Multiply were formed in Cambridgeshire in the summer of 2007. Together they write rhythmic, energy-charged songs with a healthy slice of the unpredictable. With a constantly shifting volatile mix of moods, the music flits from fast punchy riffs to warm spacey interludes and from epic build-ups into anthemic choruses. Vocals with heroic urgency soar above a pounding rhythm section whilst synths swell, creating a vast soundscape. The band recorded their first demos with Nathan Hilton at Phoenix Sound in October 2007 and played their first show in Peterborough the following month. An explosive performance in front of a sell-out crowd kick-started the band’s live reputation; something they are now keen to spread. The band is now focused on taking their music further afield, determined to play to as many people as possible. With more recording planned for January, an EP will be released in early 2008.
