Dead Kennedys are one of the most important punk bands to come out of the American scene during the late 1970s. Much like their British cousins The Sex Pistols, the band's lyrics cover mainly leftist political views and include satirical and sarcastic viewpoints. Though they recorded the most recent of their five albums back in 1986, the band reformed in 2001 and toured for six more years. Dead Kennedys' existence has been littered with controversy including lawsuits and prosecutions, but their legendary status remains intact. Their six albums are: 'Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables' (1980),
'In God We Trust, Inc.' (1981), 'Plastic Surgery Disasters' (1982), 'Frankenchrist' (1985), 'Bedtime for Democracy' (1986).
