Damien Renouf began writing music at the age of seventeen. Raised in a bustling household, rife with siblings all of musical orientation, he has grown up in Greenwich, Charlton and Lewisham, now living at Orchard Hill in Lewisham’s Coldbath Estate on the edge of Deptford. First given a harmonica by his grandfather, he learned to play the guitar in a matter of weeks, self taught and aided only by his fascination with fellow artist and legendary wordsmith, Bob Dylan. Now, with a catalogue of over one hundred songs, he continues to perform with heart-stopping live shows and heartfelt, symphonic recordings, all the time offering his lyrics and soul to the people who come to see him live. To attend his shows is to witness the growth of something truly special. Claiming that “it’s indeed difficult to include every song you want to sing when you have that many to choose from”, he looks to the ceiling and begins to play, bringing a crowded and noisy room to a complete halt and complete silence -the bottom line? See this boy live while you don’t have to pay 80 quid for a ticket! With Love, 2008.
