Formed in 2004, Crystal Castles are an electronic two piece from Toronto, Canada. They consist of vocalist Alice Grass and multitalented musician Ethan Kath. Since 2006, the band have toured, mainly in Europe, and opened for Australian electro-heads The Presets in 2007. They received recognition from NME soon after, and went on to headline the magazine's New Noise Tour in 2008, along with Team Waterpolo, White Lies and Friendly Fires. The band adopts a filthy electro meets funky house approach with heavy use of the keyboard. Their distinctive sound has earned praise from Klaxons, who they supported on their 2007 tour. Cyrstal Castles also remix existing tracks ("Atlantis to Interzone" by Klaxons and "Hunting for Witches" by Bloc Party to name a few) and are planning to release a remix album in the near future.
