Claire Nicolson is one of Britain's most exciting singer/songwriters around. After releasing Common Star, her self produced debut album in 2005 to much acclaim, and having supported the likes of Alabama 3, Ed Harcourt, Lemon Jelly, Roy Ayers, The Webb Brothers, Martina Topley Bird (ex Tricky Singer) and Mundy.Claire is now writing and recording her second album due for release in this year as well as playing festivals all over Europe and possibly America over the summer. Claire kick started into classical music learning the violin from the age of 5 and the piano from 8, eventually earning her a place at the junior Royal Academy of Music and studied there for 2 years. Before embarking on a solo career Claire started off as a session singer, guitarist and keyboardist plenty of top names like Jools Holland, Tom Jones, Sharleen Spiteri (Texas), Ceris Mathews (Catatonia), Melanie C, Mike Oldfield to name but a few. Eventually she gained the confidence to branch off and create her own irresistibly, emotionally charged music with a whole heap of originality.
