Capelle
"Alt Rock"
The CAPELLE sound is Nic, Sam, Eddie and Kris.

Formed in 2006, Capelle is the impassioned brainchild of Nic Capelle. And before you start with the Bon Jovi jokes, there’s a very good reason for using the name. It actually means a small private orchestra for a Prince or Church. Now, there ain't nothing regal or at all biblical about the music, but the fans are treating it like the second coming.

Rooted in an over-driven late 60’s, early 70’s rock vibe, the music draws several influences to create an unusual new sound. There’s hints of hip hop beats, 80’s synth textures, dark emotive lyrics, trashy funk bass lines and a voice that nods to some great singers from the past, but really it’s one of a kind. It’s the hybrid of these sounds that make the offering unique and the unbridled energy on stage that fans come to see.

There are some notable accolades worth mentioning. These include making the Top 11 of the O2 Undiscovered competition in 2006. The music has also been featured on online radio networks including Kerrang! SkinFM, LastFM, slicethepie.com and TripleJ FM Australia.

best industry quotes

  1. Their quirky dance-pop is pitched somewhere between Talking Heads and early INXS: choppy rhythm guitars and whistling are two of the key ingredients in the noir- sounding “Looking In The Mirror”.
  2. Capelle’s refreshingly raucous mix of electronic, break beat rock shows us that track’s like “Soldier of Fortune” and “Looking In a Mirror” are feverish dance-floor anthems,
