N. Ireland’s only Gypsy Jazz band
“Blue Jar combines the panache of Grappelli with Gypsy flamboyance, yet balances this passion with a dreamy, atmospheric classical sound”.
With ‘Ducks and Geese’ to their credit, their second album “Pelican Crossing” is currently on general release.
Blue Jar creates a new definition of “Gypsy Jazz”. Rather than sticking to the manouche style used by Django Rheinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, they play a variety of manouche style jazz, jazz standards, original compositions, Classical and traditional Gypsy music. Their music appeals to all ages worldwide.
