Forming in Florida in March 2006, black Kids consist of Reggie Youngblood (guitar and vocals), his sister Ali Youngblood (guitar and vocals), Owen Holmes (bass), Kevin Snow (drums) and Dawn Watley (keyboards and vocals). They first came to prominence when they played at the Athens Popfest in the state of Georgia. They then relesed their debut EP "Wizard of Ahhhs", which was received with wide critical acclaim. They have been touted by journalists and magazines on various "bands to watch in 2008" lists including the BBC's "Sound of 2008 Poll" and Rolling Stone magazine's "Artists to Watch 2008". The band came over to the UK to participate on the Vice Tour with Friendly Fires and Ipso Facto, then went on to support Sons and Daughters ad Kate Nash. Also in 2008, they appeared at Radio One's big weekend, Scotland's T in the Park, Isle of White's Bestival and Glastonbury Festival. Debut single "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You", reached number eleven in the UK chart and debut album "Partie Traumatic" is due for release in July 2008.
