Backyard Babies
"Veteran Swedish Punks"
Formed in 1987, Backyard Babies are a Swedish punk rock band, consisting of Nicke Borg (vocals, guitar), Dregen (guitar), Johan Blomqvist (bass) and Peder Carlsson (drums). They have released five albums to date, the latest being their self-titled effort in 2008, which reached number 29 in the UK rock charts. Backyard Babies are pioneers of the sleaze rock genre, and are credited with bringing the sound to mainstream music in Sweden. The album 'Stockholm Syndrome', which was released in 2002, is seen as the bands finest piece of work, and won them a Swedish Grammy. It included a track called 'Friends', which featured guest spots from 27 different musicians.
