The Arbitors are a modern sounding alternative band with members all hailing from Northamptonshire. Only formed in November 2007 they have already recorded some great sounding tunes. Tom T, Paul and Martyn all met through a mutual love of dance music in the early 90's this influence is still heard in the music they make today. Tom D had not met the group until late 2006 after a Reading Festival Pilgrimage in 2007 friendship and trust were earned and a decision to ask him to join them in forming a new band seemed obvious. Before forming a band All but Tom D have worked as Dj's with various degrees of success, Martyn is producing all types of dance music to a high standard and regularly remixes our own tracks ( we like to have both sides to our music Ala Soulwax ). Our basic decree is to write 4/5 minute pop songs, we want to appeal to as many people as possible (Sellout, Basically).

The stand out tracks are “More Speed Less Haste” and “Don’t be Persuaded” so these should be first port of call if you are unfamiliar with their work.

Their influences are wide and varied, ranging from The Beach Boys to QOTSA to Klaxons. (Just imagine if they all made an album together)

With their first release and a few gigs under their belt it's an exciting time for them. “All The Things You've Done” is released courtesy of Shifty Disco on the 11th of July set for a download release as part of there weekly singles club .They were also nominated for an Exposure Music Award in it’s inaugural event in 2008. In the pipeline for the future is a 10 track compilation cd “Sounds of Northamptonshire” being put together by Zavvi only available from the Northampton store. They hope to keep the momentum going with gigs, recording and writing of new material in a view to get that elusive record deal.

See you on the flip side
