Alter Bridge are ex ‘Creed’ band members Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall. After selling millions of albums worldwide, Creed had to split as band members wanted to pursue different creative directions. Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips realised they both wanted to go back to more rock and roll roots and started jamming together. The only person they wanted with them as bassist was Brian Marshall, who had played with them within Creed on the first albums and was since then working as a musician/producer at his home studio. Alter Bridge was then fully created with the addition of ex ‘Mayfield Four’’s Myles Kennedy who was to be the band’s singer. As Tremonti notes, Alter Bridge is a new road for its 4 band members, with an essence that is organic and honest rock and roll. Alter Bridge’s music is driven by melody and instrumentation. It’s all about fun.Throughout their debut album ‘One Day Remains’, Alter Bridge displays a respect for the roots of where rock came from. The lineage for the material ultimately draws its closest connection to the Seventies. Tremonti explained that the Seventies can really be defined by one word: ‘real’. From the beginning Alter Bridge has tried to work within the parameters of being true to that quality, while at the same time bringing the sound into the 21st century.More at: http://www.alterbridge.com/
