Absent Jack was formed in the Summer of 2005 by front man singer/ song writer James Flint. His original plan was to establish an excellent covers band with a view that overtime they would write and perform their own material as well. It wasn't long before the real creative part was at the forefront of what this band is about today.Starting from scratch led to lot of hard but enjoyable work, writing the best part of an album during the first six months. The band would rehearse in whatever practice room they could get our hands on, before making their first recordings on a tight budget. They set up their web page, contacted venue's and promoters and within no time the band was be given slots at some quality events; they've played venues such as the Gander and O’Neils in Bournemouth and the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth. To date the band have written a whole album and are well on their way to completing their second.Last Summer one of the first tracks the band recorded “Invincible” was given the production touches of top twenty remixer/producer Groovefinder. While all that was going on, the band went off and recorded their freshly penned, high energy track “Livin Life” at a studio in Poole. A selection of songs can be heard on their myspace page including the track “Invincible” that they will be performing live at the Live & Unsigned Competition.James Flint is the lead vocalist who's position live is soley vocals. He writes with both the piano and vocals. Tim Wood plays base in the band, his first instrument is guitar which he mastered through his music school education. He brings a quite unique rock/funk feel to the band. Jess Watkinson has played guitar for over ten years, a very talented writer and has spent two thirds of that time playing in live bands. Simon Rowell is the man behind the skins (also backing vocals). He's the man responsible for composing “Invincible”, nothing stops him churning out hooky, potential hit songs, hand him a guitar, he'll play it!
