Formed as the "BBC Radio Leicester All Stars" in 2007 to raise funds for the Rainbows children's hospice in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The band was part of BBC Radio Leicester's 40th birthday 'Ruby Rainbow Appeal'.
Highlights include a sell-out BBC birthday gala concert at Leicester's De Montfort Hall with Showaddywaddy and the Glastonbudget tribute band festival.
Relaunched as 'The upBeatles', the band is a caricature of the original Fab Four as they continue on a "Magical Mystery Tour" down "Penny Lane" in celebration of those sounds from the swinging sixties. The upBeatles are: Pete Hancock, Chris Highton, Mark Whitehouse and Tony Wadsworth.
