If you like James Blunt or Sharlene Spiteri, just fuck right off. We're really not the band for you. We are not young. We don't wear studded belts on low-slung jeans. We don't try to sound like Arctic Monkeys. We are four musos from Oxford. We write clever, intelligent music for ourselves. We don't write pop songs. We do serve up the occasional indulgent slice of pop curiosity. And we give it all away for free. We're a lot like Elbow without actually sounding anything like Elbow. We like close harmonies and Sus-4 chords. We're more Supertramp than The Feeling. We could be a bastard love child of Tool and Air. We have been compared to Eels and Pink Floyd. We are epic intelligent power prog. And we don't even have a bass player.

The Plugs / Oxford in August
16/07/2008 17:41:46
We got the details through from the lovely people at Gappy Tooth, and can confirm out next Oxford show. It's a Saturday. It's at the end of August. It's a special day, too, but we're not supposed to say why. So come along and find out. The Plugs 30 August 2008 The Wheatsheaf, Oxford Tickets are £4 on the night, but on sale now for only £3 at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/32222 Go there and buy them now. It's cheaper. Also playing are Denise Marie and Jessica Goyder. That's £1 per band. We have new tunes to unleash, and possibly some new trousers. What more could you want? Also, a belated 'Thank you' to our new friends Tim and David at BBC Oxford who've played a few of our new tunes on the airwaves during their BBC Introducing show. Check 'em out every Saturday night from 6-7, and phone/email/text/carrier-pigeon in your requests for The Plugs (and remember you can get our music FOR FREE – just visit www.theplugs.com) The Plugs / www.theplugs.com www.myspace.com/theplugs
