The Hitchcock Rules
"Indie Rock with a bit of Swing. Music for you all to dance to..."
The Hitchcock Rules were born in 2004 in the beautiful and inspirational county of Cornwall. Ryan Jones (Singer/Songwriter), Rich Mulryne (Drums), Stuart Trewheller (Bass), Dan Cole and A.J Lornie(Guitars) blended their talents and started creating an innovative sound and style which put a new twist on indie/rock.After recording their debut album, the band took their music on the road, selling out local venues and then taking their music on to the national arena. Playing hundreds of dates all over the UK including Leicester University, the prestigious Cavern Club in Liverpool, Beautiful Days Festival and the Princess Pavilions in Falmouth, the band created a strong and growing fan base. They have enjoyed touring extensively in the past few years supporting acts such as Starsailor, Graham Coxon, ALO, Kubb, The Webb Sisters, The Beautiful Girls and The Monkees.Having gained much exposure within the music industry and receiving an incredible response from the public, the boys felt there was a need to set up their own label, “First Aid Records” to function as a record company, Promotions Company and booking agent, to take them that one step further. In April 2006 The Hitchcock Rules were featured in ‘Music week’ with their song ‘The 91 Bus’ cover mounting the magazine. As well as appearing in Orange music week and Bristol Fringe magazines, they continue to be highlighted regularly in the local press. The band appeared on national television when the ‘Rip Curl Board Masters Unleashed Festival’ was broadcast on T4 and E4 from Newquay. In an interview with the Channel 4 programme Pop World, they were described by Hamish Clark (Breaks Co-op) and Narina Pallet as, “the highlight of the festival.”They have received consistent levels of air play on local and national radio stations such as Capital FM, BBC radio and many regional independent stations. Recently they won Pirate FM’s ‘Unsigned Battle of the Bands’ competition, which was judged by Nick Mason (drummer with Pink Floyd) and Tim Smit (the brains behind The Eden Project). The passion and energy the band hold can be seen at every gig, heard in every recording and felt in every second of the magic they make and give to their audience. The band are now looking forward to a year of festivals and touring throughout the UK and Europe. With an ever growing fan base, a bundle of media support and their new album due out in 2007, it looks to be an exciting year ahead for The Hitchcock Rules ~ anything could happen.
