The Aviators are a five-piece pop/rock band from Portsmouth. Formed two years ago, the band have supported Thirteen Senses, Electric Soft Parade, The Leaves, JJ72, The Cazals and The Fallout Trust. They have performed to sell-out crowds at Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms, Southampton Joiners, Portsmouth Pyramids Centre, The Clapham Grand and also last summers Hi-Fi Festival along with acts such as Ian Brown, Hard-Fi and the Super Furry Animals. In summer 2006 the band recorded their E.P. 'Break, Recover', with Chris Brown (Radiohead, Muse), and their sound has been described as 'pop/rock albeit with an alt-country twist - the best unsigned material we've received in a long time' by Music Week Magazine. In April this year, the band were shortlisted for an Indy Award in the 'Virgin Xtreme Best Indie Act' category. The Aviators have now moved to London and are currently gigging and have recently recorded new E.P. 'Casino'.
