Maryport Blues Festival, Senhouse Street Open Air Stage
The weather was perfect for an outdoor event, and a crowd of about 600, well lubricated with cold beer, were ready to rock. Skinwalker opened proceedings with 'No Communication', a song from their forthcoming album, with no time to take a breath it was straight into 'She's Complicated', a foot stomping masterpiece with sing along chorus, that had the audience on their feet. This no nonsense rock was a breath of fresh air from the constant, but inevitable blues standards, eminating from every pub in town. The band finished their 30 minute set with a storming rendition of The Police's 'King of Pain'. Cliched it may be, but who cares when it sounds this good.
