In September 2007, the band set about recording the album with their long time friend and producer George De Angelis (Seal, Rod Stewart, LeeAnn Rimes). As material like “Saviour”, “Wasted Time” and “Go Forth And Multiply” flowed, an electric atmosphere developed in the studio and it was clear to all that this collaboration was something special. A long journey that had started 3 years previously ended in a whirlwind 3 months of recording and by December 2007 Rime’s debut album “Something Better” was at last finished.
Producer De Angelis says of Rime “These guys are special. They are great songwriters and musicians and in Mel, they have one of the most gifted singers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.”
Since finishing the album the band has been hard at work rehearsing and gigging and along with UK shows, they’ll be touring Ireland in May. Rime will also be shooting a video for their first single which they intend to release in the Summer. Drummer Phil G. sums up the current mood “This is the definitive Rime and it’s sounding better than ever. We can’t wait to let the World hear us. It feels like it’s only the beginning!”
