Review of Paul Weller and Glasvegas at Koko iTunes live - 2nd June 08
Glasvegas opened for Paul Weller at the Tunes live festival, a series of free gigs shocased at the fantastic Koko venue in Camden. The scottish foursome proved they deserve the hype they have been receieving with a breathtaking performance. Sogs such as new single Geraldine, Daddy's Gone and Go, Square Go are classics in the making. When Weller arrived, he proved he has still got it. Even at 50 he is the classic Mod, dressed in smart apparel with a haircut that people will be copying in years to come. He trawled through his solo back catalogue, playing classics like The Changingman, Peacock Suit and From The Floorboards Up, as well as songs from his new album 22 Dreams. He even dipped into his Jam repetoire to and pulled put a rousing Eton Rifles, which saw old school Mods and indie kids uniting on Koko's dancefloor. Finishing with a cover of The Beatles' All You Need is Love, the gig was a success. The Modfather is here to stay.
