Kings of Leon at Reading Festival 2007
There are some performances by bands where they truly arrive. Where they announce to the world that, beyond question, they are rock gods. Where they play a set so utterly faultless that you walk away from the sweaty crowd thinking "that was the perfect". Kings of Leon at Reading festival 2007 was one of them moments. When they first played Glastonbury in 2004, you knew they had something special, something about their songs was unique and timeless. But even then, after two more albums of solid rock classics, you never would have thought they would have morphed into the god they are today. In front of over 100,000 people, the usually shy Followill clan ripped through a set of heavy blues influenced rock, with more opurtunities to shake you head than you can shake a...er...head at. They may not say much on stage, but they dont need to, they are too cool for that. They stand in a line, perform the best set possible and sod off. Genius. Unstoppable. Best band in the world.
