Collington X influences

say something, go on, you know you want to..
Collington X
"Moody, edgy and not quite right somehow!"
Collington X is a two-part project. Collington X live and Collington X as a songwriter.

As a songwriter, Collington X has been writing songs since the early 90's, influenced by a number of synth-based bands of the time, but developing into a writer with his own sound and style. A huge fan of Depeche Mode, Collington X has never been afraid of revealing his influences and to the similarity in style. The mood and feel of the songs do carry similarities, but since moving into other styles and influences over the years, the hard edge of Nine Inch Nails have started to influence the mood and feel of the newer, edgier material.

Live, Collington X is joined on stage by 'Velvet', a key contributor to the sound of the live material and has responsibility for writing parts for the live material. Live, sequenced synths and drums provide the stability and vocals, guitar and backing vocals make the Collington X live sound. Well received to date, Collington X will be looking to perform throughout 2008, details will be updated as and when available.

Collington X has been writing new material over the past couple of months, getting back to basics and using only synths. New material is now being added to the site, along with the performance track 'Breakdown'. The new material should be available as an album within the next few months. Name and details have been decided and will be released shortly, pending other developments, which may see fairly drastic changes to the look of the Collington X myspace page.

Velvet also writes and perform his own material under the guise of 'Tick the Box', with a more rock feel, but a powerful sound.
