CIRCUS
"Sounding more and more like CIRC-US! Imagine Prince at his funkiest meets Queen at their heaviest... we wish!!! :D"
Frontman Sid Batham joined drummer Chris Chapman to form Circus when the lads were still in High School. After a few changes in lineup, the band settled mid 2006 with Miles Robertson on guitar, Bruce Fielder on Keys/synth and Josh Smiley on bass. In the very early days, the band played local East of England venues - building a tight, dedicated fan base who to this day continue to support the lads whenever they play live. In 2006, things took an upward turn when Circus found a management team in Absolut Marketing - since when, as a favoured band of Tourdates.co.uk, CIRCUS has played more high profile venues, including The Borderline, The Marquee and an opening party for London Calling 2007 at The Neighbourhood in London. With Sid's prolific writing driving the band's distinctive sound, Absolut Marketing is currently building a dedicated recording studio, with plans for the band's first release in 2008.To arrange a gig, or organise anything in relation to the band then please contact our manager: Iain Tomsett Absolut Marketing T: +44 (0)1603 417622 M: +44 (0)7855 818 785 E:iain@absolutmarketing.co.uk

They were magnificent... this lot have more live talent in their bejewelled little fingers than many a famous rocker thrice their age! (Dean Hill, Tourdates.co.uk/Borderline A&R night)
If you get a chance to see these Norwich lads, do... they are the best unsigned act in the UK right now! Marty Dodge, critic

Circus will go into a new purpose-built studio later this month to start work on tracks planned for release later this year. The band's management team, Absolut Marketing, made the decision to invest further in the band's development earlier this year. Work began on the purpose-built studio in late February and with work progressing on time - should see the band move in to start recording new tracks towards the end of March.

The gig last week at Strikes was amazing! crowd got really into the music, and all of the other bands playing were excellent. Managed to get a load of new friends and gigs from this - weve been asked to headline a festival here in the summer, along with supporting at other festivals. We were offered a gig at the Mustard Lounge, which we sadly had to turn down due to age restrictions :( booked another on the 31st March - BE THERE!!

Circus Review - Tourdates A&R Night – The Borderline London
Having been approached by two major record labels since their last appearance on the Tourdates stage, they’d been invited back to gloat a bit and see if they could seal some juicy deals. They Were Magnificent. All between 15 & 17 years old this lot have more live talent in their bejeweled little fingers than many a famous rocker more than thrice their age. Emerging from this fine performance was the promise by a Professional Radio Plugger who has worked with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey & Bob Marley, amongst others to get them played on UK National Radio …Result!!!
Best unsigned rock band in the UK right now...
“… a mix of Scissor Sisters if they did metal and were straight, Queen at their heaviest with a mix of Extreme at their funkiest … and a frontman who reminds you of either Prince while on guitar or Elton on piano… the band combines all this and adds a touch of power metal ...” ‘Marty’ Dodge - Rock Critic

Circus @ the Marquee
I love these guys, I've made no secret of this, but at the Marquee they had to follow G.O.D.S, and, it was a school night, so they ended up playing to a half empty venue despite being the headline act. But no sunglasses or covers in sight, and, imho, success is only a matter of time for these guys. They played the Marquee and as such join an exclusive list. Sgt Snafu over & out.
